Kimmy’s Caramelitas

Combine the following in a large bowl.  Then press half of crumbs into the bottom of a 9 by 13 pan:

2 cups flour

2 cups quick-cooking rolled oats

1 ½ cup firmly packed brown sugar

1 teaspoon baking soda

½ teaspoon salt

1 ½ cup melted butter or margarine

Bake at 350 for 10 to 15 minutes

Sprinkle the following over the baked crust:

2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips

1 cup chopped nuts

Mix well:  Drizzle over chocolate and nuts:

1 ½ cup caramel ice cream topping (or one jar)

5 teaspoons flour

Sprinkle remaining crumbs over caramel topping.

Bake at 350 for 15 to 20 minutes until golden brown.  Chill bars for easy cutting
