Toffee with nuts on the bottom

I will never forget the Christmas when our good friend, Amy, showed up to our house with an enormous container of chocolate chip cookies and 9 individually wrapped boxes filled with Toffee. “I know what it’s like to come from a big family, and how special it is to receive your own box and not have to share with everyone,” she said. I think we were all a little sugar-shocked . . . and we loved it. Here is the recipe!
Toffee
(Amy William’s recipe)
Wilburs coating chocolate
3/4 c. dark brown sugar
1/2 c. butter (2 sticks)
Toasted chopped pecans
-Grease an 8×8″pan and spread pecans over evenly to cover.
-On medium heat, combine sugar and butter and stir vigorously
-Boil for 7 minutes.
-Spread over pecans
-Melt chocolate over the top.
(The toffee should be clear and crunchy)
